Ikigai - The book that changed my life

Hey there, this is GKR.
Japanese people are hard workers. They work hard every day without feeling stressed or tired because they usually do what they want to do instead of forcing themselves into something they would never do.

The people of Japan believe that everyone has an ikigai-a reason to jump out of bed each morning. Ikigai is the Japanese way of happy living with what we have for a long time.
I like this book because it taught me how to choose what I want to do in life and have a purpose in life.
This book gives a great intel on how Japan has a higher life expectancy than most of the other well-developed nations.

"Only staying active will make you want to live a hundred years."
When I first read this book I was shocked by how much information the writers Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles have produced in a tiny hardbound book. In other words, this book is a masterpiece. There is so much insight on how to live happy and healthy. Some of the things that I follow after reading this book are,

  1. Have a healthy lifestyle and eating habit.
  2. Meditate
  3. Be active no matter what
  4. Find your IKIGAI
  5. Live a purposeful life

There are only a few books on this planet that teach us how to live and this book is one such book, if not the best book on health and lifestyle. I highly recommend this book for everyone out there just to make sure everyone finds their ikigai and lives a meaningful life!

Bakuman - Comic that is close to my heart

Hey there, this is GKR . I am a big fan of Japanese manga comics as you all know. It all started when I read this manga (manga is the Japanese word for comics) called Bakuman by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. It is a manga about the process of drawing manga comics. The story is about two teenage boys Mashiro and Takagi who join hands to write and draw a manga comic for the famous publishers Shueisha. This Weekly Shonen Jump manga was a great hit in Japan as it revealed all the details about the long-hidden mystery behind manga making. The reason I read this as my first manga was because I wanted to know about the world of the manga before I stepped into it. It was in 2015, a nice September day, my dad was browsing the online store for purchasing something. I had published my first book back then and so I was at the peak of excitement. To reward the hard work my dad purchased a manga comic as a box set to gift me. It was a great surprise for me as I had a long time ago...

Disappointing Biographies

Hey there, this is GKR . I love both Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella and so I wanted to know more about their childhood and their passions. I just completed reading the so-called biography of Satya Nadella by Jagmohan S.Bhanver. The book is titled "Nadella - The changing face of Microsoft." But the book talks more about Steve Balmer than Nadella.  Satya Nadella is indeed a guy who prefers a private life but the facts in the book are too general that we can read in Wikipedia. This is not a review blog but I can say for sure that this book is not worth the time and money. The same author has also written the book "Pichai - The future of Google." This book is about Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet. This book has some valuable information about the man himself but still lacks the same flow of the read. It starts with great information about his childhood but then suddenly dives into the lives of other Google employees and founders of Google r...
