Books versus Films

Hey there, this is GKR.

In this era, people who watch films and series are more than that of the people who read books. Game of Thrones and Harry Potter has more viewers as a Film and Series but has fewer readers comparatively as book series.

Why is this difference important?

It is important because people do not understand how books can change their lives. They do not understand how books can create an impact on how they live, how they work and how they die.
Let me give you an insight.

Disadvantages of watching a film adaptation of novels:


  • It destroys your imagination
  • There is a lot of detailing in books than in films/series.
  • Lots of character flaws can be found in films as they have less time to get deeper into character emotions
  • You get to spend less time with the characters and the story
  • Technical flaws in the film/series might make the story fail. For example if the visual effects are not par with the imagination of the original author then it fails.
  • There is less information in film/series than books


 I am not blaming the filmmakers. It is a great medium for storytelling. I only am against the adaptation of books to films because it makes no sense in most of the films. Lord of the rings was the only film series that came close to the experience you get by reading the book. Most of the filmmakers are better off writing their own stories for films rather than adapting novels to make films.

Try reading Harry Potter as a book series, try reading Game of Thrones and Lord of the rings. You will understand my point of view.
The ratio of people who watch movies and people who read books should always be equal for society to develop in terms of literacy.

Ikigai - The book that changed my life

Hey there, this is GKR . Japanese people are hard workers. They work hard every day without feeling stressed or tired because they usually do what they want to do instead of forcing themselves into something they would never do. The people of Japan believe that everyone has an ikigai-a reason to jump out of bed each morning. Ikigai is the Japanese way of happy living with what we have for a long time. Hey there, this is GKR . Elon Musk is one of the greatest current-generation innovators. He is the CEO of several companies including Tesla and SpaceX. I admire him a lot especially for the fact that he is actually trying to make this world a better place by making Electric cars and selling Solar roof and walls. I have seen several Youtube videos claiming that Elon Musk's daily routine is insane. I wanted to know more about his life and so picked up this biography written by Ashlee Vance.
