E-books versus Paperbacks

Hey there, this is GKR.

There is always a dilemma for beginners if they should buy a book as a paperback or buy a Kindle device to read the books as E-books.
I prefer paperbacks. It is fun to hold the book in your hand while reading. It feels real.
But it also comes with some disadvantages like cost, weight etc.
Let me brief you about my experience in using Kindle for reading and buying paperbacks for reading.

Advantages of Paperbacks:


  • You get the feel of actually reading and completing the book. Turning pages feels like a reward.
  • Paperback books smell good. It boosts your motivation to read more.
  • Does not require batteries or electricity to read
  • These books if preserved well will be with you in your library for a lifetime.


Advantages of Kindle/E-reader:


  • It is small and convenient
  • It can hold thousands of books
  • Books are cheaper
  • Easy to take your device while on travel
  • Easy to read in low light


 Paperbacks take up a lot of space whereas Kindle will store all the books in one device. But at the same time paperbacks last a lifetime in your library and will make you feel proud whenever you see them.
It is up to you to decide which will suit you. If you travel more and want to have books on your journey, then Kindle is the best option out there.
If you are an introvert and prefer reading at home, then paperbacks make you happy.

I am an introvert and so I prefer paperbacks. What is more fun than visiting a book shop and purchasing books?

Ikigai - The book that changed my life

Hey there, this is GKR . Japanese people are hard workers. They work hard every day without feeling stressed or tired because they usually do what they want to do instead of forcing themselves into something they would never do. The people of Japan believe that everyone has an ikigai-a reason to jump out of bed each morning. Ikigai is the Japanese way of happy living with what we have for a long time. Hey there, this is GKR . Elon Musk is one of the greatest current-generation innovators. He is the CEO of several companies including Tesla and SpaceX. I admire him a lot especially for the fact that he is actually trying to make this world a better place by making Electric cars and selling Solar roof and walls. I have seen several Youtube videos claiming that Elon Musk's daily routine is insane. I wanted to know more about his life and so picked up this biography written by Ashlee Vance.
