Notes of a dream

Hey there, this is GKR.
It was a rainy night and the lights were out in my area. I was frustrated that I couldn't complete this book I was reading for the past few days. In a single night, I planned to finish it off so that I had enough time to reciprocate all the chapters in the book again. One way or the other my plan collapsed and I had to wait for another week, till next weekend, as I had college to attend during the weekdays.

My favourite musician of all time, A.R.Rahman was my only escape routine for all my issues. My hands automatically swiped through the applications in my mobile, got myself into the music application (I use Google Play music mostly) and finally played my favourite album, Kadal. The melodies were so sweet that my anger faded. The book that I was holding in the darkroom, a book named Sapiens, I gradually put it back into my bookbag that I carry every day. I started reading Sapiens a few days ago because it revealed so much information about human beings in general. As the music slid deep into my heart I had the urge to learn how a man could compose such heavenly soundtracks throughout his life without compromising on quality. A musician has so many limitations that they have to consider, from the situation to the length of the track. However, this man nailed every single soundtrack that he has ever composed with utmost perfection.

I minimized the music application and Googled his name. As expected, Wikipedia did not have enough information about the man and his personal life. All that I found online was his public lifestyle and his achievements in the industry. I was taken aback by a sudden notification on my phone from Twitter. It was a tweet by the man himself. I immediately opened the tweet to see what it was about to make sure I get updated on all his activities. The tweet was about a book.

"Notes of a dream," by Krishna Trilok. It was an authorized biography of A.R.Rahman. Imagine my astonishment that night, I was searching for information about a man and suddenly the man himself tweets a book that had all the information I needed. It was as if he saw through my emotions, yet again proving why he is heavenly.
I checked my bank account to see if I had enough money to make it through the week even after buying the book. Fortunately, I had enough and as soon as the book was available for pre-order, I placed the purchase.
A few days later I had a surprise knock on the door. It was the delivery guy with the book that I had been expecting for a while. I got the package, tipped him as I was in a good mood, opened the package and TADA! The book was there.
My craze to read the book was so extreme that I bunked the college that Friday, thereby started binging on the book from Thursday evening. The book was not as big as other biographies but contained enough information to let you melt by all the incidents that happened in Rahman's life. The writing is clean and precise. The book only lasted for one and a half-day (I am a fast reader) yet I was able to consume all the details the book was meant to deliver.
I highly recommend this book for all the fans of the musical maestro (Mozart of Madras)
Even if I start reading more biographies after this, this book will undoubtedly be one of the most favourite biographies ever written.

Bakuman - Comic that is close to my heart

Hey there, this is GKR . I am a big fan of Japanese manga comics as you all know. It all started when I read this manga (manga is the Japanese word for comics) called Bakuman by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. It is a manga about the process of drawing manga comics. The story is about two teenage boys Mashiro and Takagi who join hands to write and draw a manga comic for the famous publishers Shueisha. This Weekly Shonen Jump manga was a great hit in Japan as it revealed all the details about the long-hidden mystery behind manga making. The reason I read this as my first manga was because I wanted to know about the world of the manga before I stepped into it. It was in 2015, a nice September day, my dad was browsing the online store for purchasing something. I had published my first book back then and so I was at the peak of excitement. To reward the hard work my dad purchased a manga comic as a box set to gift me. It was a great surprise for me as I had a long time ago...

Ikigai - The book that changed my life

Hey there, this is GKR . Japanese people are hard workers. They work hard every day without feeling stressed or tired because they usually do what they want to do instead of forcing themselves into something they would never do. The people of Japan believe that everyone has an ikigai-a reason to jump out of bed each morning. Ikigai is the Japanese way of happy living with what we have for a long time. I like this book because it taught me how to choose what I want to do in life and have a purpose in life. This book gives a great intel on how Japan has a higher life expectancy than most of the other well-developed nations. "Only staying active will make you want to live a hundred years." When I first read this book I was shocked by how much information the writers Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles have produced in a tiny hardbound book. In other words, this book is a masterpiece. There is so much insight on how to live happy and healthy. Some of the things that ...

What else to read?

Hey there, this is GKR . As you all know I read a lot. In times, I get confused about what to read. There is so many options out there that it is definitely a dilemma to select the exact book that suits my taste. For example, when I was in college I had to learn a lot about programming. It is a tough subject for me as I had very little interest in engineering itself. I had to find the right book that could teach me the right stuff to just pass the exams. That is how I realised a harsh truth. There is no right book for every situation. It is true. There is no right book for every situation. In fact, statistics say that in a book, only 60% of the content is relatable for the reader. The other 40% is just a general fact which he/she already knows or they don't understand them at all. Forget about fictions. Fictional books are imaginary and so everything is probably new, hopefully. When it comes to books with information, it is necessary to save time by selecting the right ...
